Farmers from Cottonwood to Geo. Terhaar ranch voted to repair their telephone line by subscription and donation. The list of those served includes Ed Eckermann Frank Arnzen H McKinley Alois Weinhoff Alois Holthaus Geo Terhaar Casper Wensman Henry Uhlenkott William Baune A Martin Ed Jessup and Jake Welte. Repair work began Wednesday.
Monday saw three carloads of hogs delivered to the Farmers Union Warehouse from nearby farmers in Greencreek and Winona. It marked the largest weekly intake recently and the stock was noted as A No.1 quality.
The Idaho county legislature revived a $20000 appropriation for Grave Creek road from Cottonwood to Grave Creek by attaching it to the general budget bill. Governor likely to sign. The bill shifts spending control to county commissioners and drops earlier multi-district contributions. Representative Fenn and Senator Jones credited for passage in the Sixteenth session.

J H Bullard was arrested Saturday in Culdesac and jailed in Grangeville after Deputy Arnold escorted him. He was arraigned before Probate Judge Byrom on child desertion charges, with a preliminary hearing set for March 10. Bond was fixed at $1000. His wife is blind and the county is caring for his several children.
The legislature approved $15,000 to cover back pay for National Guard members of old Company EB in the Second Idaho Infantry from March 26 1917 until April 19 1917. Cottonwood youths who served with the unit will receive the back pay as part of the measure.
The Department of Law Enforcement under Secretary of State R. O. Jones sets March 15 as the deadline for displaying 1921 license plates on both front and rear of vehicles. Owners operating without plates after this date will face arrest and fines, per the County Assessor.
Ed Terhaar was appointed city marshal by John Peterson, chairman of the city council, on Tuesday to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of O. D. Hamin. The council left the appointment to the board chairman and two other applications remained on file for the position.
Mosher a 62 year old prospector from Orofino was found in a cabin three miles from Pierce with both feet frozen and flesh mortified to the bone. He survived weeks in deep snow amid wolves and wind, aided by local hikers who brought him to Pierce for treatment and possible amputation of both feet.

Heumann via Arlington Wireless draws attention. Col W. W. Hammill dies at 83 in San Cal. daughter Maude travels to Chicago with his remains. Nezperce Grange members and others discuss anti-cigarette sentiment at a luncheon. Orofino janitor finds a five foot black snake in the courthouse basement.
