Dr H B Blake Found Dead In Cottonwood
Prominent physician Dr Henry Brushy Blake was found dead near his Cottonwood home from heart trouble. Born in London on March 13 1884 he came to the United States in 1875 and lived in Moscow before moving to Cottonwood five years ago. He served as county coroner for many years and helped build Mos cow State. Funeral services were held at Grice chapel in Moscow and attended by many friends. Bond Issue Defeated In Cottonwood Street Plans
A $20 000 bond for street improvements in Cottonwood was defeated at a July 5 election with 87 in favor and 49 against from 137 ballots. Taxpayers only voted. 151 registered. The result halts summer projects except essential upkeep. some boosters plan to push pavement plans via a council petition to proceed with work.
