State Budget Bill in House is Set for Early Action
Boise Idaho Jan 17 The legislature for the first time since convening settled down to real business today facing an oral appropriations bill for 3 536 067 for biennial maintenance of state offices commissions and departments plus penal and charitable institutions The governor urged pruning and recommended cutting 769 966 from the bill The general bill excludes the state constabulary and state fair with a separate fair bill expected The list includes nearly all major state offices and agencies with specific appropriation figures for 1921 and 1922 among them the soldiers home penitentiary sanitariums and public welfare initiatives The total recommended appropriation amounts to 2 766 101 with reductions of 769 966 from the previous year and a prior total of 3 080 755 11 for the last legislature.

Arthur L. Rice and Miss Glaydis Oliver of Dillon Mont married in Butte on Monday December 6 1920 at 8 30 pm in the Episcopal church with close friends present. Rice a World War I veteran and former Cottonwood boy is the son of Mr and Mrs Riley Rice. Oliver, daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Oliver, has long lived in Dillon and works as cashier at Eliel Brothers store. The couple will live at Apex Mont. Lad in Bad Caught in Grangeville Postoffice Theft
Howard McPherson, 15, was arrested by Sheriff Elmers Wednesday night for tampering with lock boxes at the Grangeville postoffice and for alleged theft of a gold watch and necklace from the mails. He is jailed awaiting federal agents, after being freed on $1000 bond on prior charges of entering a woodchopper's cabin and stealing clothing and items.
