Registrants Warn Draft Age Men to Know Law and Address Changes
Men subject to the draft must know the law and regulations, with misde meanor penalties and possible immediate induction. Registered individuals changing addresses should notify their county draft board, and from Dec 15 questionnaires for classification will be mailed with a seven day return. Murder of Frank Van Horn Shocks Grangeville Area
Former Grangeville resident Frank Van Horn was shot and killed last Friday night at McCall Valley county near here. Frank Bishop of McCall says self defense after Van Horn struck him. witnesses call it a cold blooded murder. Bishop jailed in Boise awaiting grand jury action. Burial held in Grangeville. Van Horn left a wife and two children. Cascade counts no jail yet as valley county seat.

The Idaho boys of Company E have arrived safely in France and are reported to be well. Mrs. Cone of Grangeville, mother of two, received word by cable and telegram from New York confirming the voyage and health of all the Idaho soldiers. Not yet learned if they encountered submarines.

Lime Explosion Destroys Man's Eye In Village Accident
Felix Martzen suffered severe burns when hot lime exploded while he stirred a lime-water mix to prepare a brick flue in Jake Captain's shop. The blast showered nearby buildings. his left eye was destroyed, right eye may be saved. Wm Wagner received minor eye injury and H G Chicane was splattered but unharmed.
