Charles Hurst a prominent county farmer died at his home four miles northeast of Corydon on Sunday morning October 20 after a month long illness with diabetes. Funeral services were held at the family home Tuesday October 22 conducted by John H. Heth of Corydon with a quartet providing music and Ruth Keller at the piano. Remains were laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery. He leaves a wife and two children Mrs Ambrosia Ayers and John Hurst, plus a grandson, three brothers and a sister and three half brothers. He was born and lived his life in the county and was highly respected. The notice ends with an ad for Rosenbargers meals in Corydon.

Emile P Dupaquier died suddenly at his home in Floyd county on Monday October 21. He had served four years as county auditor and was the Democratic nominee for re election. Funeral services were held at the family residence and county offices were closed. He had suffered a stroke of paralysis limiting his public service.
