The Corydon United Brethren Church will observe Father s Day next Sunday at 10 50 AM with the morning service titled The Shadows of the Past The evening service subject is The Choked Wells of the Soul Pastor L T Taytor invites all to attend.
The Democratic Executive Committee of Corydon urges residents to vote next Tuesday for the local Democratic ticket. They argue nationwide mismanagement by Republicans and Bull Moose opposition justifies backing Democratic principles, tax relief, and equal rights. They claim Woodrow Wilson would support the Democratic ticket.
Mrs. Sarah Kron wife of James Kron died at her home near Elizabeth aged nearly seventy after a month's illness. A further notice will be issued. J C Beam Jr longtime assistant general passenger agent for the Southern Methodist railway at St Louis will transfer to Atlanta Ga November 1. FON Westerman chief rate clerk Washington DC will replace Mr Bear.
The W. H. Keller Co continues its big fall sale after heavy rain disrupted the initial opening. Extensive advertising promoted bargains and price reductions with roofing products from Sete and J. Bullett & Son noted, including gala tine V roofing and cedar shingles.
Professor George H. Mader will deliver a Gettysburg lecture in Lanesville soon, at a date to be announced. He previously lectured at Corydon courthouse and the talk was found interesting and instructive by local readers.
The New Corydon Packing Company, after a temporary closure for repairs, has resumed operation and is purchasing hogs and cattle at within fifty cents of the Louisville market. Adolph Hiemer manages the plant and will give farmers special attention, touting his expertise as a butcher and the plant's full equipment. Farmers of Harrison county are urged to bring stock to market.
New Middletown Methodists invite all to hear M C Singh Hindu from Cawnpore India in an illustrated stereopticon lecture tour on November 8 9 at Oak Grove Perseverance Chapel and New Middletown. Singh studies at Moores Hill Indiana and is praised for his English and knowledge.
Taylor Township reports Frank Brown’s trip to New Albany last week. Agnes Critchlow stayed Saturday night and Sunday with Nettie Berry. Ruth Brown spent two weeks visiting relatives and friends in New Albany. Altha Merk and daughter Helen visited sisters Mesdames Will Ware and Walter Kelly in New Albany. Mrs Clarence Colvin was called to her mother Mrs Horine near Valley Station Kentucky due to a serious illness that ended in death.

Isaac E Leffler a respected Webster township citizen died Tuesday October 21 at 6 am after a yearlong bowel illness. He was a Civil War soldier in Co F 2nd U S Infantry and later Co EF. Survived by widow Mary A Sutter four sons and two daughters. Funeral at Sharon church with Rev A P Bentley. Burial near the church. Born Posey township April 5 1849 aged 67 years 1 month 16 days. He served about two years. He was a Presbyterian and a devoted husband father and neighbor.
