Milltown men collect five thousand pound judgment

Charles Seig and his son Roy traveled to Corydon to collect the 5000 pound judgment Roy won in Harrison Circuit Court against the Southern Railway Co. The Farmer's Saving & Trust Company acted as guardian and paid the total including attorneys fees and interest of 5811.85. Roy, about twelve, was injured when he fell from a switch while retrieving newspapers, a wheel cutting off part of his foot. Major W Funk and George H Hester, Esq. secured the verdict.

Corydon Man Finds Two Large White Mushrooms

C C Gailey of Corydon Indiana reports finding two large white mushrooms while driving west of town. One weighed ten and three quarter pounds and the other nine and a half pounds. The first reportedly ties the year’s largest white mushroom. Local reports say mushrooms are plentiful this fall and of high quality.

Krause Sentenced to Thirty Days in Jail for Hotel Fraud

Judge Ridley overruled Krause's motion for a new trial in the State against Charles M Krause. The jury convicted him of defrauding a hotel and fixed a jail term of thirty days and a $50 fine. Judge Asa Elliott sought clemency, but the court refused. Krause was remanded to jail, with an appeal to the Appellate court discussed. Elliott said a motion would be made to remove the other pending case, perjury, from the county.
