Half the precincts counted show a Democratic countywide lead of about 200 on the State ticket with local candidates. Zenor remains at the old stand in Washington, while Andy and Smith will craft laws in Indianapolis amid reports of misconduct at Republican headquarters.
Heavy rain fell in Laconia last week. A social was hosted at Mrs. Scott Crosier’s home on Wednesday night. Roy Shields and Maude Lyninger visited friends at West Point Sunday. School progress under Prof. J. E. Ashton and Miss Rachael Sherman. Mr. Charles Hicks reported successful shows with crowded tents each night.
Miss True Crosier was honored with a party at the home of Mr Ed Crosier. Miss Rachel Sherman visited her parents last Sunday. Laconia teachers plan a supper at the school hall Saturday night with proceeds to support a reading circle.

Stephen Dannacher, an elderly Posey township resident living alone, fell from a door and struck his head on the porch, dying. Found by neighbor Fred Jansen the next morning after frequent bread deliveries. Coroner held an inquest with a verdict of death by misadventure. Funeral was held in Lanesville on Saturday.

George Beal continues hauling clover as Ramsey community notes capture visits among New Salisbury and Milltown residents. C P Swarens and Katie Adams wed at Wood's chapel with a reception in Ramsey. the couple will reside on the Ham Martin farm near Ramsey.
The community mourns Clara Berg a bright student aged thirteen years three months and nine days who died October 24 1902 after a brief illness. The notice recalls her quiet presence and notes she rests in the earth while a reunion in heaven is hoped for.
The Corydon colored school lists Ada Brown Leslie Arnett Roland Dorsey and May Carter on the November roll of honor for scholarship punctuality and conduct. Rev Fulghim of the Congregational church officiated at 4 o clock with James G Binkley and Nellie S Keller as attendants amid many relatives and friends who offered congratulations and gifts.

About 100 relatives and friends gathered at David Rowe's home on Sunday October 26 to honor Vernon Rowe who resides in Pueblo Colorado. The supper was praised as one of the finest and wholesome in the area with social chat and music afterwards. Photographer Davidson made a group portrait before guests departed. Vernon returned home on Tuesday.

The 14th district of Indiana Churches of Christ will convene in Charlestown Clark county on November 12. The district includes Orange Washington Harrison Crawford Floyd Scott and Clark counties with a rich program and delegates urged from all churches. A local dynamite incident damaged a saloon building and drew sharp political condemnation of a party accused of hypocrisy on temperance.
