Willey completes county tax work and settles cases
Tax ferrer C W Willey finished duties in the county and moved to New Albany under contracts with Floyd county and the city. He collected 12353.39 in omitted taxes and closed most cases, with the Savings and Loan Association bank suit settled for 6718.82. About fifty individuals and estates paid small sums. many others were adjusted without payment.

Teachers Wages Law Boosts Daily Pay for Teachers
The new law raises minimum daily wages for teachers based on 24 cents times the general average in the license. A 12 months' license at 85 per cent yields $2.12. at 100 per cent yields $2.40. It may require higher local taxes to fund six months of schooling and carries fines up to $100 for officials who violate it.
