Pearl Armstrong of New Albany was found guilty in Clark Circuit Court of manslaughter for poisoning her husband George Armstrong. The indictment listed five counts and alleged she administered carbolic acid arsenic strychnine and other poisons at their home on December 19 1909. Sentenced under state intermediate sentence law to two to twenty one years in Indianapolis women’s prison. Proceedings involved Walter V. Bullett prosecutor and W H Roose defense counsel after a venue change from Floyd county.
