Mrs Elizabeth Pitman Dies at Nehawka After Long Illness
Mrs Elizabeth Pitman born Elizabeth Conrad in Indiana May 19 1831 died March 12 at Nehawka Nebraska after weeks with lagrippe and complications. She married Andrew Pitman December 21 185 and had six children four sons and two daughters. Surviving are husband two sons Thomas of Avoca Charles of Wanango and daughter Hattie. three children preceded her. Funeral at United Brethren church with Rev Davis of Elmwood. Burial north of town beside two children. The community extends sympathy to the family.

State court also ruled a wholesale liquor dealer cannot collect when selling to an unlicensed firm knowing the goods would be sold illegally. such contracts violate public policy.

Harrison County School Feeds Patrons in Surprise Dinner
On Thursday March 16 about 175 patrons gathered at the schoolhouse around 12 50 lunch hour. They demanded of teacher Jesse S Smith the night of way, accepted by the astonished man. Two large tables were erected with the choicest eatables from local good housewives. Mr Paul Watson and Mr Smith spoke. Pupils performed songs and dialogues with Sewmatser boys providing music. That night a spelling bee and concert followed with Mil le and CGooseal of Dogwood providing music. This is Mr Smiths second year and the petition asks the trustee to keep him.

St Patrick’s Day 1911 Close of Carter’s School Fifth Term
The school at Carter’s School in Taylor township closed on March 17 1911 after its fifth term taught by Miss Arminda Noe. A noon program featured pupil recitations and a Tom Thumb wedding with Herbert V Palmer as groom and Catherine R McRae as bride. Visitors including Supt Kannapel Trustee Colvin Revs Reagan and Jean attended and urged Miss Noe to return next term. Mr Hal Faith attended and photographed the pupils.
