Prospectus for the Cincinnati Commercial 1868 edition
An 1868 prospectus outlining the Cincinnati Commercial as an independent weekly with telegraph news from major centers, strong impartiality, and a focus on reliable reading matter. It emphasizes early reporting ahead of Eastern Weeklies, a New York London eight page style, and a premium strategy that favors newspaper value over trinkets. It promotes Nationalism, liberty, and economic reform, detailing subscription rates and club premiums, and invites agents to form clubs with commissions.
