Town leaders seek raise to buy Corydon Pike

At a Feb 26 meeting the Corydon Chamber of Commerce proposed raising 7500 dollars from local businessmen to cover the difference between 32500 asked by the New Albany Lanesville and Corydon Plank Road Co and 25000 offered by Floyd county for a section of the New Albany and Corydon Pike. The county and seller could not agree, so Corydon and Harrison County backers pledged to pay the gap with fifty local guarantees. The chamber plans to consolidate headquarters with the Young Business Men's Club as the effort proceeds.
