Rice farmers in Arkansas yield high per acre near DeWitt
W. E. Pitman of DeWitt Arkansas reports 170 acres of rice produced 6500 bushels last year with fields giving up to 110 bushels per acre. Rice is sown May 1 and harvested in October after about five months, with water covering for ninety days.

Mrs Margaret Applegate an longtime Corydon resident aged seventy nine was found dead in her East Chestnut street bed Tuesday morning February 27 She lived near A B Linder and their niece Audrey Miller 14 who found her while building a fire Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with Rev J A McKamy officiating and she was buried in Cedar Hills Cemetery Surviving siblings include Noah Fielding Richard Elizabeth Bliss Rachel Baxley Louisa Shiremish Andrew Rothrock and Sallie Long along with a long Civil War heritage and a large Cunningham family connection
