A long allegory condemns monopoly and wealth power over labor. It warns that protecting profits chokes the nation, likening wealth to a bear gripping the heart. A speaker envisions a coming day when people unite to strip the beast and restore prosperity for workers.

Mrs. Clara L. Habermehl M D, formerly of Bradford, has moved to Corydon and occupies the old Dr. Jones residence as her office. A homeopathic physician with 25 years in the Bradford area, she specializes in women and children and plans to build a large practice in Corydon and surrounding towns.
An incumbent candidate appeals to voters declaring lifelong residence in the county and 30 years of Democratic voting, arguing fitness for Recorder despite weather and health issues and pledging efficient service if nominated. He notes past campaigns, debts, and support in prior elections and asks for votes and influence.
Democratic voters in Scott county vote March 29 and in Washington county on April 3 and Clark county on May 8 for primary races. Congressional candidates will be on the ballot in these primaries.

Washington's Birthday themed event featured abundant kitchen and cellar fare and a graphophone program. Mader gave an address, with Wolfe and C L Dick contributing remarks. An evening supper and magic lantern exhibit funded part of a school library. One who was there.

Zenor carried Congress without opposition, Stewart A. Beals named Joint Senator, and slate picks were set for County Clerk William L. Gregory, County Treasurer Dudley F. Davis, Sheriff J. R. Crews, County Surveyor Thomas Cunningham, and Commissioners Verge Byrum and David A. Wright for districts one and two.
The German Fire Insurance Company met at New Salisbury last Saturday and elected officers including Jacob Hiser as president and Benjamin Quebbeman as vice president. The organization has 105 members and $1,474.70 in treasury. George Pope serves as secretary and George Pope and George Woertz named appraisers while Conrad B. Adam and John Damon form the auditing committee.
An ad asserts Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic contains only iron and quinine in a tasteless form and promises no cure with a pay nothing policy, challenging its effectiveness and labeling.

Corydon Orchestra performed at Conrad concert last week. Commissioners met in regular session Monday. Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic advertised with no cure no pay claim.

Nye offers record of prompt response and service as he runs for re election. He faces no opposition and is expected to win in the fall election.
Inspectors of the precincts for the upcoming Democratic county primary are ordered to come after the tickets and other supplies on Thursday, March 13, by the committee.
