Jack Watson and Guy Hickmar of Corydon bought twenty three head from David Stoker last week. Stoker owns a Washington township farm but now lives in Corydon. Sixteen head were large red short horn cows and seven were young stock.

June 23 Peter Deutsch of Milltown visited his daughter Mrs Ed Brown. Mrs Ti Friedley of East Walnut Street visits mother near Ramsey. James Riley, Louisville College of Dentistry student, home for vacation. Mrs Olive Parks and daughter of Louisville visit her parents. Miss Faith Dropsey and Edith Watson return from Depauw University Greencastle for summer. Mr and Mrs Lewis Tracewell moved to Akron Ohio. he is bookkeeper there. Miss Dorothy Cook leaves for a missionary meeting at Winona Lake representing the Presbyterian Guild. Mrs Anna Long and grandchildren Alma Eugene and Billie Hayes arrive from Enid Oklahoma to visit daughter Mrs Spencer Wilson. Mr and Mrs Ed Lahue, Mr and Mrs Allen Greene and families attend Drop Ping Springs in Kentucky. Mr and Mrs Joseph Bender and son Louis attend funeral of Joseph Schnell at Schnellville last Thursday. S Schnell was brother-in-law of Mrs Bender and died Tuesday of last week.
Cort Snyder and wife with two daughters Esther and Corinne travel two miles south of town by car to Lewis Kansas where Mr Snyder will oversee the wheat crop. Rev J L Battram together with Rev J W Settle attend a Young People Convention in Indiana accompanied by delegates from New Albany U B church. Stella Hisey visits Crit tenden Kentucky with Leila Jordan while Jordan recovers health. Adolph Uhl, longtime worker at American Tobacco and now in Louisville Post Office, visits Corydon. Austin Nye on crutches visiting relatives in Georgetown after a scaffold accident left him with a fractured leg. Mrs Rebecca E Knight, eighty five, leaves for Severence Kansas to live with daughter Mrs James Macey and donates to Red Cross before departure.

Children from the Methodist and United Brethren Sunday schools performed last Sunday night at the A B B Church in Ramsey. A free will offering of 18.64 was collected for Red Cross work.
Mr and Mrs Roy V Bye and two children of Brook Indiana visited their parents in Fairdale. Roy bought a forty acre farm from Mrs Mary Reinhardt near Fairdale and will move from Brook to the farm in the fall, remaining in Brook until then.
Mrs William Murr and her grandson Norman were in a buggy hit by a spooked horse west of town. Mrs Murr suffered severe cuts and bruises to head face arm and back. Dr Baylor dressed injuries. taken home by auto. The incident occurred near the railroad crossing. Mor man escaped with minor injuries.
Cobert th Jenkins among fifty two from the county sent to Camp Pavier and then to Camp Sherman. Chie writes to have the Democrat sent to his address. He and Herman Byrne have been admitted to the Officers Training School and will likely be commissioned in about four months. The work is very hard with seven miles on foot and fifty pound loads. They drill six hours and study three hours daily. Friends wish both men success in their new duties.
A light rain is wished for while ex County Coroner W. S Nye is reported ill at his residence southwest of Corydon, prompting local concern and wishes for relief.
Dorris Stone of Washington DC visits his uncle Dr FR Alen and family. Miss Jeona Melton leaves for Terre Haute to attend State Normal. Miss Bessie Miller who taught in Indian apoidis schools returns home for vacation.
Mr and Mrs George Shur and daughter Zea spent Sunday in New Albany visiting Roscoe Lewis and family.
The Union Chapel announces a Monday School annual celebration on July 13. Sunday schools are cordially invited to attend and the public is welcome.
Word reaches us that Rev RL Robertson, who was injured when the automobile he rode in to Setem overturned, has not sufficiently recovered to return to his home at Booneville.
Mr and Mrs Irwin Glass with two children and Mr and Mrs Forrest Northam with two children of Jeffersonville spent Sunday with Mrs N s parents Mr and Mrs Jacob Stevens just south of Corydon. Mr and Mrs S A Taylor and son Claude and Miss Effie Tuell and Lucile Lane left today for Camp Ogelthorpe Ga to visit Ray Taylor in military training there. They will drive through in an automobile.
Dr. Frank Ulen, recent Vanderbilt Dental Depart ment graduate from Nashville, is visiting his parents Dr. and Mrs. F. A. Ulen. He is joined by Miss Thelma Nolin of Nashville for a week. Rev. J. A. Sumwalt and wife from Indianapolis toured Corydon, with Rev. o S. Haass leading the M. Hospital in Indianapolis. Mrs. Sos, making her first county trip, showed keen interest.
