Last Friday Corydon celebrated corner stone ceremonies for the new public library and the jointly funded Corydon town and Harrison township public school building. Masonic officers led the rites as Rev. Cossaboom and Judge Cook spoke on education and community progress.

The marriage of Miss Effie Frances Routh and Mr Paris Ear Fears was solemnized on Wednesday evening June 10 at the couple's newly furnished home in New Albany Indiana. The ceremony was officiated by Rev A L Bennett of Depauw M E church with relatives and friends in attendance. The bride wore white crepe de chine with oriental lace and white bride roses. the maid of honor wore pink crepe and pink roses. Refreshments followed as pink and white decor carried through the reception.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Richert and children visited Mrs Richert s sister Mrs Henry Schneider last weekend. Born to Mr and Mrs Fred Walker on June 6 a big girl Nelda Mary. Mrs Dr Erni of New Albany visited Flatwoods friends. Mrs Mary Voelker visited Will Voelker and relatives in Flatwoods. Jacob Richer visited friends in New Albany and Louisville. Frank R. Wright sold the Electric Light Plant Water Works and Ice Plant to the Interstate Public Service Company of Chicago for 30000. The deal, discussed for over a year, closed last Friday. Interstate is part of Samuel Insull’s Chicago-based utility group, which runs New Albany Jeffersonville services and several interurban lines. Some speculate plans include an electric railroad between New Albany and Corydon.
A movement to form a Corydon brass band invites all residents to a meeting at the court house next Tuesday evening, June 28, at seven o'clock. Organizers say Corydon has material for a good band and aim to perfect satisfactory arrangements at the gathering.
Posey township farmer Frank Villier was seriously injured last Thursday when his mule was struck while he rode home from New Albany to market produce. He was dragged on the ground after his lines tangled with a passing automobile and received severe bruising. Doctors Amzi Weaver of Elizabeth and another Jeffersonville physician treated him. He remains at home but is expected to recover.
Miss Mollie O Conner of Laconia and Mr Emery A Cutler of Wolcottville Ind married in Louisville on Friday June 12. The couple plans to reside in Wolcottville Ind, surprise in this county among the bride’s friends.
John Zeller aged about seventy two of Franklin township died Sunday after a months long illness. He is survived by a widow and several children. Funeral services were held this morning at the Catholic church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery nearby.
The M E Sunday School at Cran dall will host Children’s Day Exercises next Sunday night June 21. A good program has been prepared and the public is cordially invited to attend.
The Franklin Township Sunday School Convention will meet at Pfrimmer's Chapel on June 21 at 2 p.m. The program promises good talks and discussions of subjects important to those involved in the work.
