Tax duplicates for 1907 are in my hands. I will attend at the Treasurer's office in Corydon to receive taxes due. The table shows the rate of taxation per one hundred dollars of property and per poll across townships and corporations for 1907: 90-100.

A number of friends gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs Henry Sloaney on December 26 as a surprise to their daughter Belva. Dinner was served at six followed by social chat games and music and refreshments. All enjoyed the evening and wished Belva a happy New Year.

Mark Storen was re-elected Democratic District Chairman at the New Albany convention held last Thursday. Thomas B. Buskirk was elected meeting chairman and Edward Fitzpatrick secretary. Delegates backed primaries districtwide and a plurality rule for nominees. Storen won 54 votes to Brock 52 on the final ballot amid harmony and pledges to unite Democrats for November. The district committee then set April 3, 1908 as primary date across nine counties.

The gathering featured music and singing as revelers toasted future birthdays.
