A Louisville report narrates Patrolman A. Horn arresting three river thieves after their raft struck a rock while attempting to pass the falls. They carried over $100 in stolen rugs from Fern Creek hotel and bric a brac, confessing theft and intent to flee to New Orleans. One man bore a loaded revolver and a Bowie knife.
The Board of Commissioners met in special session to award county stationery contracts for 1901. Sentinel Printing Co. of Indianapolis won class one and two with 508.52, and Thomas & Ellis secured class three for 348.49. The total estimate across all classes is 1357.01 with items including blank books, legal stationery, ink, and letterheads.
A sermon urges unity among churches, noting doors are already open and lines blurred. The writer argues that Christians and worldly people mingle, calling for a literal wall to be built only to plant banners on it, and proposes united action against common enemies.

Edward Meith of Nevada came home to visit his father Gotleib Meith east of town. In Corydon he rented C M Miller's delivery wagon and loaded it with groceries to bring joy to his aging father. A large Sunday supper honored the reunion with neighbors and friends. Ed had been away several years.
