Nichoson Elrod aged eighty four died at his Orleans home February seventeen after a two week illness of complications. He spent his life in Orleans township and was the oldest native born resident. Funeral at Union Chapel church February eighteen conducted by Rev. M. L. Tullis. Burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. He leaves seven children seven total and one daughter. John E. Elrod, of this place, cared for him two weeks.

Francis Stevens died at his Ellershouse home in Hants County on February 10 1923 aged 82. A Texas native who moved to Sharp's Mills during the Civil War era, he ran a general business for decades before relocating to Ellershouse and continuing work until his death. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 pm with forest lodge pallbearers and a large turnout. FURNISHES SUPPER TO FRATERNITIES IN Corydon
W H Dyer a generous resident and member of the Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows hosted four suppers for each lodge in Corydon as thanks for their support during his illness. The Knights of Pythias meal was February 15 with about twenty in attendance. the Odd Fellows supper followed a week later with about thirty five guests. Cats were supplied by Busy Bee Restaurant. Mr and Mrs Dyer plan to move back to Crandall this week amid friends’ good wishes.

Prominent Farmer Demosthenes Davis Dies at 58
Demosthenes Cicero Davis died unexpectedly at his home two miles northwest of Corydon on February 21 1923. He had been helping load hogs for a Louisville market trip when he failed to start his car in cold weather. Funeral services were held at Oak Grove church and burial followed in Oak Grove cemetery. He leaves a wife seven children and siblings along with many relatives and friends. He was a devoted Christian and long time Sunday School teacher. He served on the Harrison Township Advisory Board.

Hedden Seriously Injured in Wagon Accident Near Elizabeth
F. M. Hedden a 69 year old farmer living near Elizabeth was thrown from a wagon while hauling wood and the wheel passed over his right arm and shoulder. He suffered two head cuts and is hospitalized. The incident occurred last Thursday morning. A Parents Teachers Association meeting is set for Thursday evening at the Grade School auditorium with performances by the High School Girls' Glee Club and a talk on school legislation by Lew M. O’Baney.

She came to this country as a young woman and lived 57 years in the same place as a faithful member of Rehoboth Presbyterian church. She leaves a son Ex Trustee Andrew Anchutz eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren with a daughter Mrs Maggie Watters deceased years ago.
