Miss Guest a Corydon High School senior died at home near Corydon after a weeklong illness thought to be a brain abscess. She was 22 years old and leaves her mother, a stepfather, two sisters, and a brother. Funeral at Rehoboth Church conducted by Rev. J. G. Moore with six teen classmates as pallbearers.

Jefferson Smith died at his home near Frenchtown Spencer township Saturday morning after a ten week illness from tuberculosis. He was sixty nine and survived by a wife five sons and one daughter Mrs Ada Williams Milton Perry August Oliver and Alva all of Spencer township. Funeral services were held at St Bernard's Catholic church Frenchtown last Monday morning at 9 conducted by Father Fellers with burial in the Catholic cemetery.

Prohibition officers find whiskey stills. Kelley faces charge
Theo Williams and deputies with Corydon Marshal Higdon uncovered a whiskey making still one mile east of Elizabeth on February 7 and seized less than a gallon. They also recovered four gallons from Scott Kelley’s smoke house in Taylor Township. Kelley was arrested, released to home, later bound $300, to stand trial in March. No one was present at the cave.

Octogenarian Magdalena Zabel Dies in Louisville
Mrs Magdalena Zabel widow of John Zabel died Thursday night February 9 at her daughter’s home 36518 Garland Ave Louisville at eighty five. Remains brought to Lanesville for burial with funeral at St Johns Lutheran Church conducted by Rev Otto Schumm. Burial in church cemetery. She left thirteen children eight survive including Mrs Redick John Zabel and Henry Zabel. Born in Germany moved to the county at eight. Widely esteemed by neighbors.
