Under Miss Mollie Keller, music director of Corydon Schools, a fine entertainment program showcases student talent and school music achievements.
The Gypsy Rover centers on Rob later Sir Gilbert Howe who is stolen as a child by Meg. He falls for Constance Martindale in a woods meeting and plans to elope with her. Craven thwarts them, Rob is imprisoned, escapes, and two years pass. Rob proves his identity, becomes a composer and social figure, and wins Constance to end the tale.
George W. Hendrich died at his Corydon Junction home after a long illness at age fifty seven. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Palmyra conducted by Rev. Joe Bunch with burial in Palmyra. He was born December 23, 1864, married Anna Durnil July 24, 1887, and left four children, eleven grandchildren, and siblings. He lived in Palmyra and Mt Tabor Mission and expressed readiness for death.
J W Shrigley known as Polk from Scott township renews his subscription along with ten family members including E C Shrigley, Mrs McCrady, Rev Julius Shrigley, and others across White Cloud Corydon Iola and Imogene, reflecting strong local support. Mr Shrigley nearly blind at seventy plus, Civil War veteran, Rothrock wife, praises for friendship and patronage.
J Ed Smith announces his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Harrison township trustee. He cites twelve years as a public school teacher and bookkeeping training as qualifications and asks Democratic voters to support him on May 3. He pledges to run fairly and honorably if nominated and elected.

In the Democrat Rudel files formal announcement as a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Trustee of Jackson Township subject to May 2 primary. Born and raised in Jackson Township he is fifty married with a family and deemed highly capable for first class official service if elected.
William Tr. Stewart seeks the Democratic nomination for trustee of Taylor Township in the upcoming May primary. He has previously served one term as trustee and is hailed as an honest industrious loyal Democrat who has lived in Taylor all his life. If nominated and elected, he is expected to be a good trustee.
The Presbyterian church at Fliz a beth presents An Old-fashioned Mother at the M F E Hall in Elizabeth on February 10 and 11. Proceeds fund a new roof for the church.
Arthur Ashton of Laconia, serving on the Federal Jury in Indianapolis, visited homefolks during the weekend.

A Washington DC theater roof collapses during a Saturday showing, killing about 95 people and injuring nearly 200. Among the dead are four members of the Kanston family from Louisville and orchestra director Ernest Natiello. Rescue efforts amid a citywide snowstorm prompt theater closures and investigations. Congressman John H. Smithwick of Florida was slightly injured.
John E. Bowling of Webster Township seeks the Democratic nomination for County Assessor in the upcoming May 2 primary. A lifelong farmer and active party worker, he previously served as Webster Township Assessor and ran for county office in 1918, winning the largest Democratic county vote but losing overall as the ticket failed statewide.

A 26 year old laborer and World War I veteran, he lives on the family farm with his parents Geo W Sonner and Mrs Sonner and served overseas with brother Thomas H Sonner in the Meuse Argonne front. He is described as a fine young man with the qualifications for the office.
Grover C. Jacobs announces his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Assessor of Heth Township with May 2 primary in view. He is described as a substantial, honest, industrious Democrat who would provide competent, satisfactory office if nominated and elected.
