A local business extends thanks to patrons for support and outlines its success from selling dry goods clothing hats shoes ladies and gents furnishings. The note promises fair prices honest dealings and invites new customers to inspect their stock. It pledges to correct any mistakes from the past two weeks rush and to continue the same customer service as in larger towns.
In a called session last Saturday the County Commissioners set Dr. Wm. H. Daniel as Secretary of the Board of Health at 300 per year for four years after a Supreme Court ruling made the old salary law ineffective. Joseph Denbo reappointed janitor for one year at 260. John M. Baelz took bond as County Treasurer for two years with 0000 sureties. John Cunningham named Spencer township free gravel road engineer who also surveyed the road with viewers.
Cora F. Faith suffers critical injuries after her clothing saturated with coal oil catches fire at home. Found in the kitchen last Saturday night, doctors fear death from burns. Faith, once married to John Wm Reed, was divorces restored to her maiden name two years after their 1899 decree. Public notices also mention a testimonial for Electric Bitters.
ABE WILLIAMS and Philip Martin of Bradford are noted visitors. Enoch Martin of Milltown, Miss Bess Kepley of Corydon, and Wm. Mitchell of Bradford visit Byrneville. Pearl Hazzard returns to Greenville. Laura Walk visits from Milltown. The Cumberland Telephone Co plans new lines toward Centerville. Elder J W Wright visits then leaves for Madison and Michigan. six weeks of meetings end with 28 baptisms, total membership 112. Prof Ed Walk hosts a Christmas tree for students, earning praise.
Miss Della E. McKinney of Indianapolis and Daniel E. Lasley, son of Mr and Mrs Benjamin Lasley, wed at the Church of Christ on Blaine Avenue Indianapolis. The couple traveled from Indianapolis to New Albany and Corydon for a reception by the groom's parents on Christmas day. They will reside in Indianapolis after February 1.

Miss Jessie Brown spent Christmas with home folks while Philip Flock visits his father George Flock. A Munster School Christmas tree celebration and a pie supper raised over 11 dollars to buy an atlas for the school. Andrew Sappenfield will preach at Mt Solomon church on Dec 29 and Dec 31 and at Oak Wood school on Dec 30 and Dec 31.

Miss Lottie Bickel daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Bickel and John Mathes son of Mr and Mrs Eli Mathes local residents married at the Presbyterian church by Rev K M Irvine at 6 o clock in the evening on the 24th instant. After a short wedding trip they will reside at their home near town. Congratulations.
Harry Colson of Masonville Ind writes that Bucklen's Arnica Salve relieves piles with pain bleeding itching and protrusion. The same salve is touted as best for cuts burns and injuries at 25 cents. Dee Dilla Wiseman returns home from business college in New Albany for vacation.
