Genius for Mechanics, Blind Man Who Finds Work to Do
James L. Judge of 2222 Clinton Avenue is totally blind yet a skilled steam litter in Milwaukee. Once a printer, he served in the Civil War and saved Brigadier General J. W. Coppinger on the field. After discharge he worked in copper mines, lost his sight in Upper Michigan, and later became a hospital steam litter in Milwaukee. He stayed by the wounded under fire and helped move Coppinger to safety. Judge now dictates letters to constituents at the Capitol. Also mentions Henderson’s war service and Congress tenure, with anecdotes of dental or political impersonations and the pair’s ties to veterans.

Pillars of Smoke and the Church’s Triumph
A sermon-themed summary describes the church as pillars of smoke rising from martyrdoms and persecutions across history. It extols the church’s mission to bring peace, conversion, and unity, praising Christ, condemning violence, and urging readers to enter the church as the path to heaven.
