Several weddings were solemnized at the County Clerk's office this past week. Ed M Brown married Miss Addie M Shickdy of Boone township and Zeipayy Brown wed Barney W Brown of Brandenburg Kentucky. Mary E Zimmerman and Albert Brown of the same area also joined in marriage. The Browns were not related except Zeilpah and Albert, who are siblings. Death of Mrs Jennie Lindsay in Jeffersonville
Mrs Jennie Lindsay aged fifty died at her home in Jeffersonville on Tuesday evening of angina pectoris. Formerly Miss Jennie Wolfe, she was born in Corydon and survived by five children and siblings. Whitlaw Reid Death of a U.S. envoy to Britain
Whitelaw Reid longtime American ambassador to Great Britain died at his London home on December 15 from pulmonary edema. He had served as Civil War correspondent, then associate editor at the New York Tribune. Reid was VP nominee in 1892 and was appointed minister to France before his death. remains to be brought to America for interment.
