Depositors of the defunct Corydon National Bank held a meeting in Corydon with J. L. Windell as chairman and Claud Frederick as secretary. A three man committee was named to press the interests of about 4000 depositors with $899,000 in claims, of which roughly $450,000 remains unpaid. Bedford Woman Dies at Home of Daughter in 1923
Martha Lansford Mathes, born April 16 1850 in Bloyd county Indiana, died December 6 1923 at 2 30 a m in Bedford aged 73 years 7 months 21 days. Survived by three daughters and two granddaughters, with a sister and brother, she moved to Corydon in 1868. A devout member of M F church and Eastern Star, funeral held December 8 at 2 00 p m at Dr. and Mrs. Bottorff home, Cedar Hill cemetery. burial by the Order of Easter Star officers.
