Crescius Wins New York Trotting Race in Heat Record
Crescius defeated The Abbot in both heats at New York last Thursday to win a $12,000 purse. First heat time 2:03 4, second heat 2:05. The Abbot was distanced in the second heat and Crescius beat him by a half length in the opening heat. Corydon Ball Team to Play Bodren at Fair Ground Friday

County Council appoints new members to fill vacancies
Auditor Watson convened a special session of the County Council last Thursday to fill vacancies. G. L. Shields of Boone township was named for district 2, Benjamin F. Davis of Blue River township for Councilman at Large. The council now includes W. I. Mauek district 1, G. L. Shields district 3, Geo. G. Schafer district 3, John S. Arnold district 4, and at large William H. Keller Sr, B. F. Davis, and William Thomas. The council will meet the first Tuesday in September to set county appropriations and tax levies.
