New Teacher Wage Law Expands Minimum Pay Across Schools
The General Assembly enacted a new minimum wage for teachers ranging by class from four to six cents times the general average, with a state minimum of 809 per school year. Funding gaps could delay application to current contracts, prompting potential longer terms, school consolidation, and fewer schools to meet costs as districts face higher salaries per teacher.
