He helped found Roberts Chapel and was a long time Sunday school superintendent. He left a daughter Mrs Gusting of Pheasant Pi Mo and was twice married. He faced financial loss from endorsing paper and died supported by his lodge and daughter. Funeral held Monday in New Albany under the Odd Fellows.

Mrs E Lemmon moves her millinery business to a new brick building on South Market Street near the fair ground bridge. She extends a cordial invitation to former customers and all others to call and see her spring millinery stock, all new.

Wininger petition for location of a highway between Harrison and Washington counties yielded a favorable report.
Jacob Schaffer displays a smooth iron handed down through his family. He claims it was bought by his grandmother at George Washington’s mother’s sale and used in polishing Washington’s laundry. Schaffer values the artifact and shows it to friends.
The 71 year old Isaac M. Dotts was found dead in his barnyard at about three in the afternoon by neighbor William Kinzer. He left $33 in cash and about $1200 in notes and checks on his person. The coroner held an inquest and he was buried at Rogers Camp Ground the day after.
State Geologist Blatesley warns horticulturists and farmers not to plant young orchards during the coming 1902 locust visitation. The insects, repeating every seventeen years, cause limb breakage and ruin of young trees, a known effect to farmers during previous invasions.
