The Century Dictionary aims to redefine English reference works
Over five years The Century Co. prepares a full English language dictionary led by Yale’s William D Whitney. It will include exhaustive terms across law science and arts, cross references, synonyms, and an encyclopedic scope with 6000 illustrations. About thirty specialists oversee definitions under Whitney. The project may cost upwards of a quarter million dollars and will take years to publish.
