Chemistry study program gains follow through in colleges

About 50,000 study Chem- Bond and 250,000 use Chem-Study materials. Strong notes the National Service Foundation showed little interest in the idea in 1957 but funded a Writing conference two years later. The first draft of Chem-Bond was created by 19 teachers, revised after school trials, and commercially published in January. Some schools still use older materials. Tracking pupils into college shows improved performance with fewer failures and more high grades.
