Arthur L. Ransom of R D 2 was held for quarter sessions on a larceny charge connected with the killing and butchering of two Hereford heifers owned by W W Waterhouse. The animals strayed to Ransom’s farm near Piccadilla Hill and were reportedly shot and butchered.

Two workers Clyde A Woods of Sharpsville and James Crowl 29 of Greenville were crushed today inside a blower cylinder cab at Sheningo Furnace Company's Sharpsville plant when a machine was accidentally started while they were changing valves. Dr P E Biglits Mercer county coroner investigated. Woods is survived by a widow and daughter Crowl by a widow.
