Erie C Of C Backs Track For County
The Greater Erie Chamber of Commerce urged the Pennsylvania Racing Commission to grant a racing license and build a track in Erie County. In a letter to Roy Wilkinson Executive Vice President Charles G Barney highlighted Erie’s tourism strength focused on Presque Isle State Park and its location in the Pittsburgh Cleveland Buffalo triangle. Officials expect a tourism boost and say a track could add about 25 million dollars annually, supporting the economy and attracting visitors.
