Man surprised while killing calf in field

A would be thief halted a calf slaughter on a Concord township farm before noon yesterday but fled as the farmer discovered him. Constable Darrow, Chief Rupersburg, and local patrols searched the countryside without success. The calf owner, Jaan Kendrili, was nearby when the incident occurred and the suspect headed toward Corry, though this is unconfirmed. Farmers remain vigilant for further such acts.
