Acacia Club outlines plans for the 1938-39 season at a big jamboree meeting scheduled Tuesday evening in the Masonic Hall. Officers hope for a large turnout as pall season opens and Acacians report a sharp rise in membership and active plans ahead.
Warren Chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s Subs hosts a dinner meeting at 6 30 PM in the Woman's club. Invited districts include Union City Corry and Youngsville. About 100 attendees expected. Guest speaker is Mrs Helen Schluraf from Erie, past state BPW president.
Local social notes list Mr. and Mrs. Shiley Holdy and children and Miss Cecele Davis and Miss Luis Halfast of Youngstown Ohio visiting and celebrating a birthday. Numerous relatives and friends from Erie Brocton Warren Corry Jamestown and Mt Pleasant appear in weekend gatherings.
Mrs. Polly Raymond of 995 Lawerly Street died at 7 AM after a long illness. Born April 18, 1874 in Spring Creek township, she lived near Corry most of her life. Survived by son Thomas Hassett of Cleveland and four grandchildren, four brothers Byron VanDresar Spring Creek James VanDresar Corry Milton VanDresar Corry, and Leo VanDresar Clyne N Y, plus two half sisters Jennie Davis Mayville N Y and Cora Rowst Cory. Funeral arrangements set for Wednesday at 2:30 PM from home with West Lawn Cemetery Columbus to follow.
Meeting of the Erie branch of the Women's Field Army for the Control of Cancer will be in the dining room of the Boston Store at Bre on Friday September doth at 2 45 oclock. Albert Brurck of Pittsburgh will address the gathering on The Cause and Cure of Cancer. Reservations should be made with Mrs. F. S. Austin.

Warren readers bid farewell to Rev. Bartlett as he leaves the First Methodist Episcopal Church to become superintendent of the Sugar Grove District of the M. E. Church. A purse and home gift were presented by Alan Templeton and Herbert G. Eaton, with praise for his service and cooperation during two years in Warren.
