Native of Spartansburg Killed at Starbrick Crossing
Mrs. Orpha Hopkina Burrows 8 of Warren was killed instantly when her automobile was struck by a gasoline locomotive crossing Starbrick, four miles west of Warren. Coroner Ed Lowrey ruled no inquest. Engineer Robert Gardner of Mycndia said he hissed the whistle but the car darted into the tracks. Burial plans pending at Lutz funeral home.

Van Depew, general chairman, notes last year drew about 1,000 spea rians. merchants will issue prizes and a full list of donors will appear in the Journal before the event. Funeral Services for Mrs Bertha McSraw
The body of Mrs Bertha Carrol McGrany formerly of Carry died at her Erie home. It was brought to Carry for funeral mass at St. Thomas church at 9 30. Rev Francis Graves officiated. Interment followed at St Elizabeth's cemetery. Bearers listed and mourners traveled from Erie.
Relief Job Temporarily Halted In North East District
Fifty five workers are reassigned as the WPA halts the North East project due to labor shortages. Bernard Cochran, WPA director, announced the suspension and said farmers from other districts will keep workers employed in farms and canneries nearby for about a month. The sewing project will reopen afterward. A note adds New College Named Toledo DeSales College to succeed St. John’s University.
