Evel Knievel Detained After Assault Charge at Studio

Daredevil Evel Knievel is booked on charges of assaulting TV executive Sheldon A. Saltman at the West Los Angeles studio. Saltman, 46, a vice president at 20th Century Fox Studios, says Knievel and an unnamed companion attacked him outside the studio commissary shortly after noon on Wednesday.

Missing Fake Tree Stolen From Corrian Hotel Lobby

Corry police investigate the theft of a four foot fake potted shrub valued at 50 dollars from the Corrian Hotel lobby last night between 10 and 11 p.m. Hotel staff describe the foliage as a bushy piece in a black container. Police continue the tree search. Two drivers were cited for traffic infractions for failing to stop at a red light. James Rooney 17 and Christopher Bemis 18, both of local addresses, face the unrelated charges.

First In Venango Charge Driver With Homicide By Vehicle

FRANKLIN The first motorist in Venango County charged with homicide by vehicle was bound over to court after a preliminary hearing. Stephen Gerovich 23 from Cooperstown was charged in the July 12 death of Susan Marie Simpson 18 of Franklin. The law took effect less than two weeks before the accident and its constitutionality was challenged by his attorney.

Downtown Corry Eyes 10 Percent Free Parking Plan

City Council endorses potential 10 percent free all day parking pending merchant consensus. Counselling Center in Corry Receives Free Van Grant

The Counselling Services Center in Corry was named the Erie Community Foundation’s first grant recipient outside Erie city. The $6,700 award funds a 12 passenger van and one year of auto insurance for the local mental health agency.
