Set Teacher Salaries For Vo Tech Staff

The Corry Area School District released the salaries for nine teachers at the new vocational-technical satellite facility. Superintendent Charles W. Krepps Jr. said the pay is on par with typical teaching salaries when adjusted for experience and years of service under Erie County Vo Tech supervision.

Pleasantville Man Charged With Drunken Driving and Pot

Wendell R. Anderson Jr., 23, of Pleasantville, was charged after a 2:35 a.m. wreck near Union City. He drove east on Graves Street, failed to stop at Liberty Street, crashed into Robert Conway’s house, then into a ditch. Damages total $800 to the truck and $3,000 to the home. He was arraigned before District Justice Mary Jane Fuller and faces a hearing October 4.

Thugs Rob Pick 'Um Store Cash in Route 1 Heist

Police probe a theft at Pick 'Um Shoe Store in Corry Plaza on Route 1 where more than 190 dollars vanished. Store worker Martha Kraft placed a Marine Bank sash bag of receipts under the counter before leaving. Vicki Gerina later found the bag empty and described two suspicious customers after noting several shoppers earlier.

CHEER President Attends ESC Handicap Meet

Mrs. Marjorie Tarbell of Corry will join area delegates at Edinboro State College for a two day regional forum on handicapped individuals. She represents CHEER Inc. which provides recreation and services to handicapped children and adults in the Corry area. The session, part of eight statewide meetings, precedes Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference on Handicapped in Hershey and the White House Conference next May. Pool Ripped and Water Lost on Wayne Street

Police investigate criminal mischief after a 24 foot plank fell onto a 24 foot above ground pool on Wayne Street ripping the rubber lining and sidewall and releasing about 15000 gallons of water. Damages are pegged at 700 dollars as three youths were seen nearby.

Thefts Up Murders Down In FBI Crime Report

The FBI reports an 11 percent rise in thefts and a 12 percent drop in murders for the first half of 1976, with overall crime up 4 percent from the same period in 1975. Violent crimes declined broadly except rape and assault rising in some Western and smaller cities. Data reflect 9,160 agencies and include city variations such as Chicago and Los Angeles showing shifts.
