Abolition of Poor Board Urged by Rural Taxpayers Group
Rural Taxpayers association legislative committee urges abolition of the poor board and county tax collector’s fire and return of a third of gas tax to townships. They back a five mill school tax levy for fourth class districts and seek a positive commission of assessments. The plan includes replacing the misused system with a commission form and eliminating extra municipal and county fees.
