The meeting opened Tuesday and filled Centerville church. officers were elected including B. H. Donovan moderator and Melvin Thomas head of the Young People’s Society.
In McComb Mississippi on September 21 a blaze at the McComb Wholesale Grocery Company killed three workers and injured several others. The dead were Joe Battaghia C A Redgood Jr and Robert Lee. Loss was estimated at 200000 after a weakened wall collapsed.

Territorial police aided by hundreds of deputized citizens launched Hawaii’s most intensive manhunt. Gil Jamieson, one year old son of Honolulu banker Frederick W. Jamieson, was kidnapped last Tuesday with a $10,000 ransom demanded. The body was found near Waikiki Beach.
Guy W. Brown former state senator banker and church treasurer of Fayette City Pa was indicted by a federal grand jury on 88 counts in three bills charging defalcation falsifying credits embezzlement and fictitious notes. His brother Jesse Brown was indicted on four counts. The case stems from misappropriation at Fayette City Bank and the Home Mission and Benevolent Funds. The matter heads to the November federal court term in Pittsburgh.

An auto crash on East Main Street Tuesday evening led to a complete settlement of damages with Howard Loveland and John Carrier by Lindsey RD 1.
