A Union City man, aided by attorney Olliar Boi, created a disturbance at South Center Street offices shouting for a gun. Police and Dr. J. F. Kilmer arranged safe transport to the city jail. by Sunday he was calm and to be released to relatives after a summons.
Wireless reports say a liner caught fire at sea with hundreds aboard. Crew and passengers were rescued by nearby Greek vessels and ship officers, while the vessel eventually sank after dawn. Survivors reached safety at a Greek port as authorities investigate causes.
A suspect arrested by Officer Wilbur Meritt was taken to jail after pleading guilty on a theft case alleged to total about 200 dollars in Warren. The man, held by Corry police, faced county court, with authorities confirming he is the same individual linked to multiple local thefts.
United Press reports in Vienna that Jo Archibald war correspondent for United Press discovered documents from Ambassador Duma to the Austrian government concerning communism in the United States. Archibald was not arrested. his status and potential trip to Washington were discussed with his attorney Frank Hogan.

A serious freight wreck occurred early today on the Lake Shore line near Gorman and Prenoh Street. An air hose broke causing several cars to derail and four cars blocked the Pennsylvania tracks while a crowd gathered at the yard and debris was cleared by wrecking crews.

A terrific explosion in Altoona on the morning of September 20 damaged a store on 8th Avenue near the station. The blast wrecked the store of Jo Nanalla and the apartments above were ruined. Police have no trace of the criminal.
