Three inmates who escaped from Kane County detention were sentenced by Federal Judge F P Schoonmaker to five years in prison. Andrew J Henry a 44-year-old from Philadelphia who fled February 12 1984 to attend court said he wanted to serve in the army and feared being killed. Frank dasica 25 of Chicago and Karl G Rideout 31 of Philadelphia claimed ties to religious groups and also received five-year terms.

Man held on extortion case after guilty plea
Erie resident Gail M. Moriany, 33, pleaded guilty to extortion and was ordered held for the grand jury by U S Commissioner Harry B. Harding. Bail set at 18,000. He previously faced a draft registration charge under the Selective Service Act.
