Two Alienists Quiz Gronberg In Murder Case
Hugh Fritz Gronberg of Jamestown 44 faces first degree murder charges in the death of Ruth Briggs 41 at Poote avenue Nome. Two alienists from Mayville psychiatrist Dr EH Crantis and Dr Edward Sharp examined him for the defense. Trial set for October 16 at the county courthouse in Mayville.

Two New Polio Cases In Jamestown Reported
Jamestown reports two new polio patients at General Hospital yesterday, the first since Saturday. Total hospital load remains 17 as two patients were discharged. Both patients are Jamestown residents, a 26 year old man and a five year old boy, in good condition.

Stockton Highways Official Killed in Route 20 Accident
Waldo Douglas 63, Stockton highways superintendent, died from a fractured skull after being struck by an eastbound car on Route 20 three miles west of Fredonia New York. Clayton West 70 of Brant, NY, drove the car that hit Douglas as he stepped onto the highway to assist a soil conservation crew moving a tractor and bulldozer.
