Coleman Appointed Tax Collector in Renovo Council Action
Renovo borough council on Wednesday night appointed M. Coleman as tax collector following advice that Miss McGuire’s failure to file a bond and her attorney’s statement she would not collect the 1943 duplicate created a vacancy. The council may fill the unexpired term by a resolu tion naming a qualified local resident. Other notes include a meeting at Mrs. Perkins home on Frasik street, a new luggage shipment at Bernstein Bros, and welfare department changes with Evelyn Davidson named acting commissioner until successor for Waller Christopherson is chosen. A youth, Tony McGrath, 16, is held by police after running away. Willan A. Feleson, wounded in Sicily, received the Purple Heart and is noted as the husband of Dorothy Peterson.
