Fatal wreck in the South rails derail near Livingstone

A fast passenger train No. 2 on the Alabama and Great Southern Railway derailed at Livingstone, Alabama, after striking a broken rail at three o'clock this morning. Several dead and about twenty injured, many seriously, with reports of higher death tolls. Rescue trains with doctors and nurses dispatched from nearby stations.

Not Guilty Verdict In Crawford County Liquor Case

Canadian Gov Vessel Sunk by Collision Near Quebec

The Canadian government steamer Montmagny was sunk in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence after a collision with the Lingman coating vessel about 26 miles from Quebec. Captain Pollot and twelve crew members are missing and believed dead. The Montmagny carried coal and supplies to the wireless station at Halle Isle.

G O P county meeting set for tomorrow in Erie

Republican committee members from Corry plan to attend the courthouse gathering. Attorney A C Chapin of Erie is tipped to succeed LeVant Davis as county chairman while the local group expects little real contest. Weather warned of unsettled conditions could affect the meeting.

Corry man named officer of state sealer association

Curlew Keating of this city County Sealer of Weights and Measures was honored yesterday by selection as an officer of the state association of sealers in his first convention. He was named Sergeant At Arms with other officers including President Harry A Boyer Dauphin vice president W Jansen Scranton secretary James Sweeney chief of standards treasurer J B Herhey Allegheny City Sealer Joseph Gordon of Erie was placed on the legislative committee. Keating arrived home this morning and Sealer Gordon of Erie also spent time in the city today.
