Local man charged in Johnson Brothers burglary
Robert W. Cornish, 45, of 11144 South First Avenue, freed on 2000 bond after being arraigned on burglary and larceny counts. About 458 dollars worth of hand tools, including tool boxes with automotive socket and end wrench sets, were stolen from the Johnson Brothers equipment company on September 3 at 4 a.m. Police traced him via clues and shoe prints, and found the loot at his residence.

Two Spartansburg Women Injured In Route 178 Crash
Two area women were hurt in a one am crash on Route 178 four miles east of Union City. Mrs Thelma Pitkin of Spartansburg drove west and ran off the berm, crossed the road into a ditch.
