Erie youth testifies then faces armed robbery charge
An 11 year old Erie boy entered an armed robbery hearing as a character witness and was later charged himself after the victim identified him. John Lindsay, named by the victim, was jailed on a $1500 bond after pleading innocent at arraignment before Merchie Calabrese.

An 18 year old deck hand, Jimmie Lee Pulliam of Erie, drowned at the public dock at the foot of State street after missing the dock while attempting to board as the boat moored at 8 30 a m The coroner said Joe Divelle tried to rescue him but failed and the Coast Guard pulled the body from the bay 18 minutes later Death was ruled drowning by Coroner Chester Miller.
