Double Protection Offered Negroes In Nashville
Federal Judge William E. Miller issued an injunction amid integrated Nashville first grades. Officials told parents to send children to six newly integrated schools with protection from local police and the federal order. The injunction bars John Kusper and nine others from interfering with court-ordered desegregation, as two defendants were dropped for lack of evidence and notice. The ruling allows some civil unrest restrictions while upholding rights to free speech in context of violence concerns.
