Thursday Crowds at Corry Fury Grounds Draw Big Attendance
Crowds filled Corry Fury grounds from dawn to night for the Thursday events. Exhibits by the State Health Department and local stores drew large crowds while stock, poultry, and cattle halls pleased attendees. A brief shower gave way to clear skies as horse races excited spectators. Mayor Patterson inspected conditions and closed two concession stands, with police arresting a few disorderly participants. Attendance estimated between 10 000 and 12 000 amid improved crowd management compared with prior years.
