Ammonia Tank Explosion Kills Six at Newark Plant
A nine by eighteen foot ammonia tank explosion at the Interstate Milk and Cream Company plant in Newark kills six men, including Samuel Hotei, president of the company, with several others injured. Spectators were among the dead and injured as the tank was being tested ahead of a Monday opening. A small fire followed but was put out quickly.
